Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro to start: Predicted Man United XI vs Arsenal

Anthony Martial remains unavailable for Manchester United this weekend as he struggles to overcome an Achilles injury.

Boss Erik 10 Hag has confirmed the player’s absence, admitting he doesn’t know when he will be back.

Ten Haag also said he was unsure whether Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka would recover in time, but said new signing Anthony would be available and available.

It looks like even though Wan-Bissaka and Shaw are fit, the manager will keep his backline in Dalot, Varane, Lisandro and Marasia, who have dropped just one of United’s three games.

It also means that Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof will continue to warm up on the bench.

In midfield, it may be time for Casemiro to make his full debut, with Scott McTominay likely to give in. Christian Eriksen could also be rested and Fred could be brought in to provide a familiar face alongside his Brazilian team-mate in midfield.

Anthony Elanga has been a disappointment this season, but if Ten Haag feels Anthony is not ready to start he can opt to have Cristiano Ronaldo back in the starting line-up and move Marcus Rashford to the left flank, moving Jadon Sancho to the right.

Anthony could then be brought in in the second half, with Ronaldo making way for Rashford and Sancho down the left.

Bruno Fernandes should keep his place, as well as the captaincy, between n°8 and n°10.

David de Gea will continue to score despite the arrival of Martin Dubravka from Newcastle.

Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny will miss Arsenal with long-term issues, while Martin Odegaard, Alexander Zinchenko and Aaron Ramsdale will face late-stage fitness tests.

With all of that in mind, here’s our scheduled XI for Sunday’s kick-off at 4:30 p.m.:
