Erik ten Hag feels Manchester United can challenge for title

After last season’s disaster, Manchester United handed Eric Ten Hager the task of returning the club to their rightful place at the top of English football.

The Dutchman knows the difficult road ahead and has made it clear to the club that he needs support in the transfer market as the current location is insufficient to achieve his vision.

Many players left for free which resulted in a huge hole in the squad. Numerous reports indicate that the Dutch manager also needs to address the disharmony within the squad.

It was an almost not so auspicious start as United suffered back-to-back losses to Brighton and Brentford in the opening weeks.

Pressure is mounting on the former Ajax boss, with numerous mischievous reports suggesting the job might be too big for Ten Hag.

The club eventually won him six players in the transfer market, and Liverpool’s result was the start of a four-game winning streak, with the Red Devils beating rivals Liverpool and current champions Arsenal.

The 20-time English champions also won two away games while keeping both sheets clean, despite not performing as well as they should.

ETH changes club outlook

From hovering at the bottom of the Premier League table, they are currently fifth, just three points off the top.

The mood is optimistic to say the least, with the manager sensationally telling his players that he believes the team is capable of challenging for the title.

After destroying the North London side, Ten Haig reportedly said: “This is the real Manchester United. We should be at the top, not Arsenal.

“It looks like their only title threat is Manchester City and if they make a mistake they think they can take advantage of it,” Sun Exclusively claimed.

Fans will be delighted to hear that their new manager has transformed the outlook for the club. Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, fans have come to terms with the fact that arch-rivals Manchester City or Liverpool will be in contention for the top spot.

With Liverpool and Chelsea struggling, No.10 Haig’s words may still hold true. But the players have to create momentum and the whole team has to be pulled in the same direction.
