Heavy rain continues to impact the area today – Brospar Daily News

A flood warning was in effect for parts of Providence and Kent this morning until 11 a.m. as heavy rain continued overnight. Runoff from yesterday’s rains and continued rains today will lead to poorly drained floods and swelling of small rivers and streams. Never drive on flooded roads.

The region-wide flood watch is in effect until 5 p.m. as rain is expected to continue throughout the day.

Heavy rain continued over much of the region this morning. Another 1-3 inches are expected today, with higher numbers likely to be reviewed locally. Staying cool this afternoon, highs are only in the 60s. Steady rain ended overnight but spotty showers continued with a spot of fog. The low will be in the 60s.

Wednesday remained cloudy with a few spotty showers at times, but definitely not a washout. Some sun may appear later in the day. The highs will peak at the lows in the 70s. We will continue to clear overnight Thursday morning with lows above the 50s.

The sun is expected Thursday and Friday, with temperatures returning to normal. Thursday’s high would be in the mid-70s and Friday’s high would be in the mid-80s. Now the sun continues through the weekend, with highs remaining in the lows of the 80s.
