PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Lack of fuel supplies in the northeastern United States has raised concerns that extreme weather events could disrupt supplies. The Department of Energy said diesel and heating oil were more than 60% below New England’s five-year average. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm will call a meeting of regional governors after Labor Day to discuss the situation. She also urged governors to take all possible steps to shore up supplies. An industry representative said the situation should improve in September and October 2022.
