PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (WLNE) – A Providence College student fell from a dorm window Thursday morning.

Providence police said they responded to Davis Hall on campus immediately after midnight.

The school told ABC 6 News the man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital after “falling from a fifth-floor dorm window.”

The 19-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries, police said.

Investigators spoke to one of his housemates, who said he was sleeping at the time of the incident.

Another roommate, who was not present, said he noticed something was wrong after a recent altercation between the two, according to police.

Upon entering the dorm, officers said they noticed a white powdery substance on the table, a straw, and an empty wine bottle in the trash can.

Police said the student was stable but remained uncooperative.
