Queen Elizabeth II died Thursday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
It was officially announced on Tuesday that the Queen was medical supervisionand her family traveled to her summer home in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, to be by her side.
As recently as Tuesday, the Queen was active in foreign affairs. to encounter Liz Truss with her country’s new Prime Minister. However, speculators have raised concerns about Queen Elizabeth’s health as it is the first time in her 70-year reign that a new Prime Minister has been appointed from outside Buckingham Palace.
Elizabeth’s eldest son, Charles, 73, immediately became King Britain and the Commonwealth after the death of the Queen.
