When Rangers bring their group stage rivals back to Ibrox, they will change their fortunes in the Champions League.
That’s according to former Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny Football Insider About the recent fate of the Gers.
The Rangers are defeated 4-0 At Celtic Park, they are five points behind the league leaders.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side lost 4-0 to Ajax on Wednesday (September 7) as they returned to the Champions League group stage for the first time in a decade.
However, Kenny is helping Gers get back to their best form when they return to Ibrox after two disastrous away performances.
“It could affect them” Kenny said Football Insider Journalist Ben Wilder.
“But you have to be able to recover from these results. You cannot sit and turn around.
“The Ajax game is over. The next Champions League game is at home, which is important and I think that will change everything.
“Both losses were runaways and we know what the crowd is like at Ibrox. In fact, these results do not occur at Ibrox.
“So Napoli, Liverpool and Ajax returning to Ibrox would be a different proposition and I think that could make or break their chances of progressing.”
Rangers take on Napoli at Ibrox on Tuesday, September 13, with all games postponed this weekend.
They are five points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
In other news, a former FIFA official has claimed Conor Goldson deserves an extension to his ban as Rangers footage emerges.
