The Walking Dead Story Episode 5 Recap

“Davon” begins when Davon wakes up in the woods as a walker and shares a handcuff with him. After resisting walkers trying to eat him, he realized that a group of people were trying to hunt him down. Since he doesn’t remember what actually happened to him, the walkers start talking to him and accuse him of being the murderer. Soon he connects everything he remembers and realizes the walker was Amanda, the one who took care of him when he got lost in the woods with a broken leg. He remembers the warm relationship he developed with Amanda’s sister, Nora.

Gradually, Davin remembered his time in Madawaska, a small town in Maine. After he was separated from Amanda, he put her in the house they shared. He starts walking again, only to be kidnapped by a group of French speakers, including Nora. The group attempted to execute him for killing several children, but Nora also stopped when he remembered that Nora’s son, Galen, was still alive. The members of the group were polarized over stopping the executions and an argument quickly broke out between them. Davin fled the scene and followed Amanda’s son, Arno, to find Galen in his custody.

The Walking Dead Story Episode 5 Finale: Why Did Arnold Kill the Children?

After tracking Arnold and seeing Galen being held captive by the former, Davin realizes that he is the real killer. Arnaud sometimes believes that “murder is mercy”. He doesn’t want children growing up in a turbulent world, especially after the zombie apocalypse, which doesn’t match their innocence and purity. He believed that children growing up in such a world would only become bad. As far as Arnaud is concerned, the world is filled with enough evil to contain those who will grow and multiply. This despicable belief drove him to murder the children.

Arnaud felt that their communities did not have enough resources to raise children who would become a burden on their fellow citizens. He begins his killing spree with Martin. Even though Amanda knew about her son’s actions, she couldn’t stop him. As a mother, she was afraid that he would be killed when the truth came out, which left her with no choice but to silently accept the murderous thought that he was helping the child by killing the child. Arnaud does not even consider himself a murderer. For him, it saves children from a potential downfall in terms of personality.

How do you say Davin in French?

After revealing the truth about Arnaud and the murder, Davon leaves the group that killed Arnaud saying “Je voir”, meaning “I will see”. When he discovered that one of the community members had killed the child, he realized that the whole community was to blame, not just Arnaud. Davin understood that their closed existence and extreme preoccupation with survival made them savages. The fact that members of the community longed for his death even before trying to find out the truth made him realize that those around him had lost their humanity, just like Arnault, who had left his children to die.

These accomplishments led Davin to remind members of the community that humanity and hope do exist in the world. He asks them to open up and see how people can help each other and survive together, rather than closing their worlds to kill each other. However, Davin’s call to “see” did not reach members of the community. They showed they were savage by killing Arnaud. Realizing these people won’t change, Davin says he’ll “see” himself, suggesting he considers leaving the community in pursuit of hope and humanity.

Will Davin and Nora end up together?

After Amanda saves Devon from the woods, he meets Nora, the Elder’s sister, and the two begin a sweet relationship. After her recovery, Davon started looking for strawberries for her and they even started sharing piano time together. Even though they didn’t verbally affirm each other’s feelings, they were able to recognize each other’s love for them. However, Amanda’s death and the murders of the children completely changed their lives. The misunderstanding that Davin was the murderer of his sister, son, and several other children killed Nora’s feelings for him.

When Nora realizes the truth, Davin decides to leave the community and those who make it up, including Nora. Her announcement that he will “see” may be Davin’s way of letting Nora know that he is breaking up with her. Since it was Nora who asked Arnault to die in the first place, Davin must have realized that he couldn’t share his life with someone who wanted his fellow man to die, even if that person was the murderer. So we think it’s very likely that Davin and Nora won’t get together.
