The world’s longest cave just got miles longer – Brospar Daily News

The longest cave in the world is getting longer. Mammoth Cave is a national park located in south-central Kentucky. Another 6 miles were discovered on Thursday, making the cave now 426 miles long, according to the park’s Facebook page. Superintendent Barclay Trimble said the remaining miles of the cave were spread over parts of the cave system and were mapped and documented during hours of investigative work by the Cave Research Foundation. They say the find is particularly special because it happened 50 years after the cave was formed and happened to be the longest in the world. About a year ago another 8 miles was discovered.
