Vancouver Island RCMP release new pictures of Parksville mother Carmel Gilmour, 36 Now missing five years

Oceanside RCMP have released new photos of the night a Parksville woman went missing more than five years ago.

Carmel Gilmour, 36, was at the old liquor depot on the Alberni Freeway the night she disappeared and was reportedly confused and paranoid.

New surveillance footage released Thursday shows the mother-of-two inside the store around 9pm on November 14, 2017

“We hope this will jog people’s memories. We hope people who know what happened to Carmel or where she is now will see this story and contact investigators,” said Sgt. Shane Worth with the Oceanside RCMP.

Carmel’s then-boyfriend told CHEK News he was breaking up with her that night and she convinced him to go to Little Mountain with her.

He said he was out of his van when she abruptly left. His wallet and some personal effects were still in his van. It was 10-11 p.m. Police said that was the last time Carmel Gilmore was seen.

Her boyfriend reported her missing the next morning, police said.
