Will Fish, Ethan Galbraith, and Charlie Wellens head out on loan

As the transfer window closes, a slew of young United forwards are heading out on loan in a bid to earn more minutes in senior football.

The last three to do so are Will Fish, Ethan Galbraith and Charlie Wellens.

Will Fish, 19, has moved north to join Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Captaining Manchester United Under-23s as a 17-year-old and playing for England at all ages, Fisher has a strong pedigree at youth level, having had a disappointing short spell with Stockport County last season. After his loan spell, he will be looking to move up a level.

Scotland team manager Lee Johnson was enthusiastic about the decision and said Say “He’s a dominant centre-back who is comfortable on the ball and adds extra depth to our defence.”

Ethan Galbraith decides to reunite with Neil Wood in the city of salford.

A full international for Northern Ireland, the move came as a surprise to fans who expected Galbraith to progress after a successful loan spell with Doncaster Rovers in League One last season.

With Salford City looking for promotion and a familiar manager, the move provides a good environment for a small midfielder who likes to control the ball deep.

With just one year left on his contract with Manchester United, the focus on a permanent move may have played a role in the decision.

Charlie Wellens was previously close to a move for Cruel Alexandra but ended up joining Oldham Athletic in the National League after the transfer window closed.

The move sees the young right-back following in the footsteps of his father Rich Wellens, who made over 100 appearances for Oldham.

Speaking of his loan, Wellens says “Playing the men every week will make me a player, so I can’t wait.
