– Residents of North Carolina can now vote in the upcoming midterm elections. The state will send these people mail-in ballots who asked them Friday.

On Thursday, the state said more than 53,000 people had requested an absentee ballot.

The last day for North Carolina to request mail-in ballots is November 1. Ballots can be returned on Election Day, According to the North Carolina Board of Elections.

Midterm elections will take place on November 8, 2022. Ballots include:

  • a seat in the United States House of Representatives
  • 14 seats in the United States House of Representatives
  • Elected to several state offices, including the North Carolina Supreme Court, General Assembly, and Court of Appeals
  • magistrates and prosecutors
  • County offices, such as sheriffs and county commissioners

If people want to vote in this year’s midterm elections, they have until October 14 to register to vote. You must be registered to vote to request an absentee ballot.

This option is also available to active duty military personnel or those who live overseas and wish to vote.
