Durham, North Carolina – Durham Police say they are investigating a shooting on Sunday that left one dead and three injured.
Police responded to the shooting in the 4400 block of Highway 55 in North Carolina after 5:30 p.m., police said.
When they arrived, they found three adult men who had been shot. The three men were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
One of the men died in hospital from his injuries, but the other two were not believed to be life-threatening.
Shortly after, police said another man was taken to a local hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds. His injuries are not life threatening.
Police told WRAL News that two vehicles were involved in the shooting. The blue and red cars are covered in bullets.
Video taken by a passing driver showed a man wearing a gray hoodie driving away. The woman who filmed the video told WRAL News that she and others nearby ran to the red car to help.
“I went to the red car and the driver was still sitting in the driver’s seat and fell head over heels. He had a head injury and brain matter was spurting out. I was just there, kinda shocked,” the woman said. “Everyone wanted to call 911, but we couldn’t get an answer. It took about four or five minutes, then I was moved to another sanction, then I had to wait another five minutes.
This is an active investigation, but police do not believe the shooting was random.
